Habitat & Distribution
Prefers sandy and muddy substrata, but in Cornish waters this species has also been caught on rough, stony ground at 15-90m depth of water. This fish has a very restricted distribution in northern European waters, occurring from North Africa, including the Mediterranean, northwards to south-west Britain.
