Range & Status
An indigenous species which frequents the bottom of canals, the lower reaches of rivers and lakes. It is accepted as being a native species in Cornwall in the Bude Canal, despite its rather discontinuous distribution. This species has not been recorded from the Bude Canal for some years now and may well be extinct at this site.
