Sphecodes ferruginatus



Range & Status

Widespread with scattered records throughout England, Wales and Scotland. There are only two records from Cornwall, an earlier (1958) record from Greenscombe Woods at Luckett in east Cornwall and more recently (2004) along the coastal footpath adjoining heathland at Predannack on the Lizard Peninsula. Like many Sphecodes spp. it is an cleptoparasite of various species of the genus Lasioglossum .
