Range & Status

Diptera: Cecidomyiidae; uncommon or rare.

Regional Distribution

VC1: SW61 Lizard National Nature Reserve and South of Kynance in 1981, SW61

Predannack Wollas in 1988, SW71 West of Gwendreath in 1981. VC2: SX46 Landulph in 1930.

Habitat & Ecology

Associated species: Dropwort Filipendula vulgaris . Gall causes flower bud to be swollen, reddened but not hairy, with red larva in summer. Host plant is found mainly on The Lizard with a few other sites scattered throughout Cornwall.

Threats

Unknown.

Conservation

One site is a National Nature Reserve, two sites are on National Trust land.
