Nomada fucata

Range & Status

A widely distributed species in southern England and Wales. This bee and its host

Andrena flavipes favour a wide variety of sandy and grassy situations, especially coastal landslips and soft rock cliffs, in Cornwall. There are at least nine post-1980 Cornish sites for this species and its relative abundance here and elsewhere in the country has lead to suggestions that its current status should be downgraded.
