Range & Status
This is one of the earliest bees to appear with individuals regularly found in March in
southern England. Foraging is almost exclusively on Willow Salix spp. catkins. A local species in southern Britain, the range extending northwards to Lancashire. There are at least ten post-1980 records, all from VC2, mainly along the southern edge of Bodmin Moor.
