Range & Status
A large kelp similar in morphology to Laminaria hyperborea but from which it is usually easily recognised by its more yellow colour. Apparently confined to south-western Britain with the great bulk of the population to be found on the south coasts of Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This species appears in Appendix I of the Bern Convention.
