Cornish Red Data (2009)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Cornish Red Data Book (2009). The map on this web page depicts the organisms distribution and shows the records made pre-2000 and those made since.

Leblondiella densa

Range & Status

Epiphytic on the decaying leaves of Zostera spp. in the lower intertidal and shallow

subtidal zones. This rarely recorded summer annual forms tiny, erect, filamentous shoots on Zostera blades. The recent demise of the intertidal Eelgrass Zostera spp. beds in Cornwall will have done little to enhance the success of this species. It is known only from a few scattered localities around the British Isles.
