Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Potamogeton polygonifolius - Bog Pondweed

A common plant of shallow acid pools, ponds, streams and ditches in the main areas of heath and moor, especially over Bodmin Moor and the mid-Cornwall moors. On the Lizard it is frequent in the small pools and in the flooded trackways. It is rarer on the coastal heaths, due to the lack of suitable sites, but it can be found in cliff-top flushes and is present on the Isles of Scilly.
