Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Poa compressa - Flattened Meadow-grass

This uncommon grass is nearly always seen on top of walls, such as at Treslothan church near Camborne (SW63P, 1980s, R.J.Murphy), at Erth Barton (SX35Y, 1990, S.C.Madge) and St. Germans (SX35N, 1990, S.C.Madge) in south east Cornwall. It has also been found on a Council tip at Gerrans (SW83S, 1980s, B.E.M.Garratt) and on a rock cutting to the east of Truro station (SW84C, 1980s, A.J.Byfield).
