Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Populus alba - White Poplar

White Poplar has been quite widely planted and in places has become naturalised through self-sown seedlings and by suckering. Recent records include Thanckes Park (SX45H, 1997, M.Atkinson), Trevawden (SX15Z, 1997, M.Atkinson), Merrymeet (SX26H, 1997, M.Atkinson), Tywardreath churchyard (SX05X, 1997, I.J.Bennallick), Tregembo (SW53Q, 1980s, J.A.Paton) and near Rushy Green (SW76V, 1994, H.M.Meredith).
