Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Rosa stylosa - Short-styled Field-rose

There are numerous nineteenth century records for this rose from south east Cornwall but virtually none since. It is, however, locally frequent on the northern part of the Lizard Peninsula, though rare elsewhere, such as on Rock dunes (SW97I, 1993, M.Atkinson), at Whitstone (SX29U, 1993, M.Atkinson), at Bridgerule (SS20R, 1994, BSBI) and at Pencalenick near Truro (SW84S, 1988, R.J.Murphy).
