Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Silene latifolia - White Campion

White Campion tends to be coastal but is also able to tolerate the contaminated soils of the former mining areas, hence its occurrence in the Camborne-Redruth area (SW64). Recent records include Gwithian Green (SW54V, 1998, C.N.French), St. Just-in-Roseland (SW83M, 1998, R.E.Lees), Philleigh churchyard (SW83U, 1997, M.Tempest), Harlyn Bay (SW87S, 1998, H.M.Meredith) and St. Breock (SW97Q, 1997, I.J.Bennallick). It is recorded on Scilly.
