Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Eleocharis acicularis - Needle Spike-rush

Always very rare in Cornwall, this Nationally Scarce plant is now known in only three sites. It still grows in Carminowe Creek, off Loe Pool (SW62M) and in the nearby municipal lake at Helston (SW62N). On Bodmin Moor it had been recorded in the Temple Pools (SX17G, 1960, B.Sheen) and has now been refound in a nearby pool between Colvannick Tor and the A30 (SX17G, 1996, P.A.Gainey).
