Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Legousia hybrida - Venus's Looking-glass

An arable weed, rare in Cornwall, which has become confined to a few scattered sites, as at West Pentire (SW76Q, 1994, H.M.Meredith) and near Nare Head (SW93I, 1991, M.Tempest). It has also been found to the east of Porthluney Cove (SW94Q, 1988, A.L.Grenfell), Trenain Farm (SW97I, 1987, T.J.Dingle), south of Bolitho (SX26L, 1990, J.H.Finch), near Venterdon (SX37M, 1995, M.Atkinson) and in an arable field on St. Martin's, Isles of Scilly (see addenda to Lousley, 1983).
