Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Lolium x boucheanum - Hybrid Ryegrass

The parents of this hybrid grass are L. perenne and L. multiflorum . Records are scattered across Cornwall. It can be an escape from cultivation or the result of natural hybridisation. It has been noted in the Brea valley, near Redruth (SW64Q, 1977, R.J.Murphy), at Tresillian near Truro (SW84T, 1990, K.L.Spurgin) and at Hudsland Farm near Kilkhampton (SS21W, 1992, R.M.H.Hodgson).
