Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Eleocharis uniglumis - Slender Spike-rush

i> E. uniglumis is very rare indeed. There is one old record near Bude (SS20), one on the Lizard, and several on the Isles of Scilly. It grows in somewhat brackish marshes associated with the coast, but the Lizard record is from a wet area in Chygarkye Quarry (SW72B). The presence of a hybrid spike-rush stimulated a search for E. uniglumis in Mount field and this proved successful (SW75Y, 1997, D.T.Holyoak). It is the only extant site for E. uniglumis in Cornwall.
