Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Dryopteris x deweveri - Dryopteris dilatata x carthusiana

Until recently only one record had been known in Cornwall for this hybrid. This was for SX17, a record made without locality (Jermy et al., 1978). In 1998 a whole group of hybrid plants, with both parents, D. dilatata and D. carthusiana , was found growing in Molinia tussock at the edge of scrub on Retire Common (SX06B, I.J.Bennallick, conf. A.C.Jermy).
