Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Spergularia rubra - Sand Spurrey

Sand Spurrey is found wherever there is a suitable gravelly substrate such as in car parks, along parts of the coastal footpath, on tracks over heath and moor, and on china clay waste near St. Austell. It has been recorded at such places as Great Work Mine (SW53V, 1997, C.N.French), West Lizard Downs (SW61W, 1998, I.J.Bennallick), Benny Bridge (SW85I, 1998, H.M.Meredith), Burngullow Common (SW95X, 1998, M.Atkinson), Padstow (SW97H, 1995, R.Tofts) and on the Isles of Scilly.
