Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Dactylorhiza x hallii - Hybrid Orchid

The parents of Dactylorhiza x hallii are D. praetermissa and D. maculata ssp. ericetorum . It has been found most frequently in West Cornwall at sites where both parents occur. These include Hayle Kimbro Pool, first seen here in 1973 (SW62Y, 1994, D.T.Holyoak), Main Dale (SW71Z, 1971, Lizard Field Club), Bolenowe Moor (SW63T, 1965, L.J.Margetts), Trevince Moor (SW74F, 1965, L.J.Margetts) and Red Moor (SX06R, 1979, E.Almond).
