Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Vaccinium oxycoccos - Cranberry

Cranberry was first found new to Cornwall in a Sphagnum bog to the east of Fox Tor (SX27J, 1979, B.N.Boothby). In 1987 another colony was located in a valley bog east of Camperdown Farm (SX17J, T.J.Dingle). There may be still more sites waiting to be found on Bodmin Moor, as in 1991 a third group of plants was found in a valley mire to the north west of Garrow Downs (SX17J, J.Stewart).
