Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Persicaria wallichii - Himalayan Knotweed

Where Himalayan Knotweed is established it remains for many years and can form large stands, but is much slower to spread than Japanese Knotweed. It can be found near Madron Well (SW43L, 1925, E.A.Rees; still there 1991, C.N.French), at Wacker (SX35X, 1992, R.W.Gould), Talland Bay (SX25F, 1992, S.J.Ford), Trerice Bridge (SW95I, 1997, M.Atkinson) at Rosewarne, Camborne (SW64K, 1966, L.J.Margetts; still there 1998, C.N.French) and what is now the Callington bypass (SX36U, 1967, J.A.Paton; still there 1998, M.Atkinson).
