Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Ruppia maritima - Beaked Tasselweed

This is an extremely rare plant of brackish pools and ditches along the south coast and on the Isles of Scilly. It has generally been found close to freshwater lakes or marshes, or on the edge of estuarine waters. There are only two recent records: in a brackish ditch at the eastern end of Par Beach (SX05W, 1998, I.J.Bennallick) and in a brackish pool in a salt-marsh by the West Looe river (SX25H, 1991, M.Atkinson).
