Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Ranunculus auricomus - Goldilocks Buttercup

Goldilocks can be found in a few scattered woodland sites in the extreme east of Cornwall such as Luckett Woods (SX37W, 1991, M.Atkinson), Dizzard Wood (SX19U, 1989, R.J.Murphy) and Rose Wood, near Holwood Quarry (SX36R, 1988, R.J.Murphy). It is possible that it still occurs in Merthen Wood on the Helford (SW72I). Otherwise, it has almost certainly gone from West Cornwall.
