Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Taraxacum insigne

There are few records for this dandelion which tends to grow in sandy places near the sea. It has been reported on sandy ground at Porthtowan (SW64Z, 1973, L.J.Margetts), on Gwithian Dunes (SW54Q, 1973, L.J.Margetts), Rosemullion Head (SW72Y, 1973, L.J.Margetts) and on a hedgebank at Hendra near St. Just (SW42I, 1982, B.M.Sturdy).
