Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Digitaria sanguinalis - Hairy Finger-grass

An established alien in bulb fields on the Isles of Scilly but only casual on the mainland. Here it grows along town pavements, as in Penzance (SW43Q), where it has intermittently been seen since 1878. It has also been found in a garden centre near Breage (SW62E, 1997, C.N.French), as a garden weed at Exwell (SX37H, 1993, M.Atkinson) and by a roadside in Saltash (SX45J, 1990, S.C.Madge).
