Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Crambe maritima - Sea-kale

Sea-kale can be found at the base of sea cliffs and at the top of beaches at a number of sites in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Typically it grows in shingle or between boulders. In many instances records are of one plant only, as at Chipman Strand (SX19P, 1994, M.B.Walker), but at Lantic Bay (SX15K, 1998, I.J.Bennallick) and on the boulder beach by Parc Caragloose Rock (SW93J, 1995, N.Lusmore) there are numerous plants.
