Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Pinus contorta - Lodgepole Pine

Records of Lodgepole Pine are scattered across Cornwall, all of them planted specimens. It has been seen on mine waste at Wheal Maid (SW74L, 1994, C.N.French) and to the south east of Leedstown (SW63B, 1994, D.T.Holyoak). It also occurs on St. Mary's (SV91B), Isles of Scilly. In East Cornwall it can be readily located in the Smallacoombe Plantation (SX27H, 1997, M.Atkinson).
