Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Erodium cicutarium subsp. dunense - Dune Stork's-bill

This dwarf coastal stork' s-bill is frequent on sand dunes such as Gwithian Towans (SW54Q), Gear (SW75S) and Penhale Sands (SW75U) and in short turf maritime grassland at locations around the coast, as at Polruan (SX15F). Intermediates between Common Stork' s-bill and ssp. dunense are rather common, however, and this makes recognition of ssp. dunense difficult (Stace, 1997).
