Flora of Cornwall (1999)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Flora of Cornwall (1999), which was a Tetrad Atlas (the maps had 2km square dots or Tetrads). The map on this web page depicts the plant's distribution at the 1km square scale and shows the records made pre-2000 which were used in the 1999 Flora and those made since.

Helleborus viridis subsp. occidentalis - Green Hellebore

Green Hellebore has disappeared from many of its previously known haunts and is now very rare indeed. Perhaps the best place to see it is on a road hedge which runs through Mellingoose Woods at Ruan Lanihorne (SW84X, 1987, R.J.Murphy). It has also recently been found at Trethinna Court (SX28L, 1996, M.Atkinson), near Helligan Barton (SX07R, 1991, M.Atkinson) and near Canworthy Bridge (SX29L, 1992, M.Atkinson).
