Viola tricolor - Wild Pansy



Range & Status

Native. European Temperate plant. Found throughout the British Isles, but rapidly

declining.

Regional Distribution

Scattered in the southern half of Cornwall from near Land' s End (SW32) to near Saltash (SX44). A possible casual on the Isles of Scilly.

Habitat & Ecology

Mostly an arable weed, sometimes a casual on waste ground. There are old records for subsp. curtisii in coastal grassland.

Threats

Changes in the management of arable fields.

Conservation

None of the sites are protected.
