Porphyra drachii - Kelp Laver



Range & Status

The foliose phase is epiphytic on the frond tips of the brown seaweed Laminaria hyperborea and epizoic on a variety of hydroids in the shallow subtidal to about 12m depth. The full range is not yet known but there are confirmed records from Cornwall, Pembrokeshire and possibly Argyll and Shetland. An under-recorded, data deficient and possibly alien species.
