Range & Status

Found growing on or around algae or on sessile/encrusting animals in the shallow

sublittoral zone, preferring wave-sheltered sites. A southern and western species, known from around various islands on the west coast of Britain (Skomer, Lundy and the Isle of Man) and the south coast of Britain from Cornwall to West Sussex and the Channel Islands.
