Range & Status

Forming an adherent felty covering on rocks in the lower intertidal. Known with certainty in the British Isles only from the south coast of Britain (Cornwall and Dorset). Records from Ireland may need re-evaluation. Numerous records from the south coast of Cornwall, especially on the west coast of The Lizard. Only one post 1980 record, from Prisk Cove near Mawnan in 2005. Believed to be in decline.
