Range & Status

On a variety of hard substrata, in the sublittoral zone in 10-50m depth of water. Essentially a warm water temperate species which is widespread in the Mediterranean, reaching its northern limit in south-west Britain, where it has been reported from the Western Approaches to the English Channel, the Channel Islands and the coast of Cornwall.
