Janthina pallida - Pale Violet Sea-snail



Range & Status

Very similar to Janthina janthina but with a paler, less glossy shell. Another holopelagic species with the same range as the other janthinids. More commonly found than Janthina exigua but much rarer than Janthina janthina . During December 2006 and January 2007 in excess of 20 specimens were collected on the north coast of Cornwall.
