Range & Status
Very localised across southern Britain, possibly declining.
Regional Distribution
Recently recorded in east Cornwall in SX06 (details not available).
Habitat & Ecology
Associated with Bur-reed Sparganium spp.; the larvae are aquatic, feeding at the roots of Bur-reed, and the adults are attracted to flowers of Yellow Water-lily Nuphar lutea .
Threats
Silting or artificial in-filling of water bodies; pollution.
Conservation
Protect open waters and their catchments from damaging activities.
