Umbonula ovicellata



Range & Status

A sublittoral species, found attached to Laminaria holdfasts and a variety of hard substrates. A southern species, common in the Mediterranean and reaching the northern limit of its range from the Isles of Scilly, through to the south coast of Dorset. Found on stone and shell, offshore to 200m. This warm temperate water species has a range from the shores of south-western Britain, south to Madeira and the Mediterranean.
