Cornish Red Data (2009)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Cornish Red Data Book (2009). The map on this web page depicts the organisms distribution and shows the records made pre-2000 and those made since.

Caprella andreae - A ghost shrimp

Range & Status

Numerous specimens of this poorly known species were found associated with various hydroids on a piece of stranded wood, which also had four specimens of Planes minutus the Columbus Crab attached, on Perranporth beach in 2008. There appears to have been very few, if any, records of Caprella andreae , known to be associated with floating objects, from British waters.
