Range & Status
A widely distributed species throughout Britain, though generally scarce and local. It is found in open woodland and grassland, the habitat of its host Andrena coitana . This cleptoparasitic species, like its host, has undergone a recent dramatic decline. There is one very old Cornish record and two recent records, both in 2004, from Cabilla Woods and Crowdy Reservoir in east Cornwall.
