Range & Status

A fairly large, mucilaginous, irregularly branched, mainly summer species found on rock in the very lower intertidal and shallow subtidal to a depth of 5m. Rare and generally confined to south-western shores in Cornwall, Dorset, western Ireland, northern Wales, Channel Islands and several are old records from south Devon.
