Gonomyia conoviensis



Range & Status

Widely dispersed across Britain, particularly around the rocky coasts of Wales and West Scotland, but also in the uplands.

Regional Distribution

Discovered on Treluggan Cliff, Veryan Bay by Keith Alexander in 1989.

Habitat & Ecology

Associated with seepages or streamlets on coastal cliffs and rocks. The biology is

unknown, but the larvae presumably live in sediments by the seepages.

Threats

Coastal defence works and water extraction in vicinity of sites.

Conservation

The Cornish site is National Trust land.
