Cornish Red Data (2009)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Cornish Red Data Book (2009). The map on this web page depicts the organisms distribution and shows the records made pre-2000 and those made since.

Cochlodina laminata - Plaited Door Snail

Range & Status

A large Door Snail typically found in deciduous woodland, relatively common elsewhere in Britain and not threatened. In Cornwall it is found at Greystone Wood (SX37U) and Clitters Wood (SX47G). There is no evidence of threat to those habitats but rich mature deciduous woodland is an uncommon habitat in Cornwall that merits conservation.
