Pterosiphonia pennata



Range & Status

A small epiphytic species on crustose corallines and ma\'ebrl Phymatolithon calcareum , also epilithic on muddy bedrock and pebbles. Often growing amongst other turf-forming algae, from extreme low water to a depth of about 10m on moderately exposed to extreme wave-sheltered coasts, often with strong current action. Known from scattered localities in south-west Britain, Cornwall, south and north Devon, south Wales and western Ireland.
