Range & Status

A parasitic species found in the mantle cavity of various lamellibranchs such as mussels and oysters from the inter-tidal region to 100m depth. Also found in the branchial chambers of tunicates such as Ascidia mentula and Ascidiella aspersa . A scarce, south-western species, but also occasionally in the Irish Sea. Elsewhere south to the Mediterranean and Gabon.
