Cornish Red Data (2009)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Cornish Red Data Book (2009). The map on this web page depicts the organisms distribution and shows the records made pre-2000 and those made since.

Parmotrema robustum - a lichen

Range & Status

A large foliose species growing on mossy, north-facing serpentine rocks in Gew Graze valley north of Kynance Cove. A very rare species which is also known from S.W. Ireland, Cardiganshire and Merioneth. The species, in its heathy coastal site, is vulnerable to fire and the creation of a firebreak and the introduction of grazing around the single site would help to diminish this threat.
