Range & Status

Formerly widespread in England.

Regional Distribution

Found at Tresco, Isles of Scilly (Joy, 1909).

Habitat & Ecology

Associated with Common Sorrel Rumex acetosa and possibly also with Sheep' s Sorrel R. acetosella . Larvae are reported to occur in galls on the flowers. Wide range of dry grassland sites.

Threats

Intensification of agricultural use of grass pastures, including over-grazing, or abandonment of grazing.
