Cornish Red Data (2009)

The descriptive text, below the map, is from the Cornish Red Data Book (2009). The map on this web page depicts the organisms distribution and shows the records made pre-2000 and those made since.

Umbraulva dangeardii

Range & Status

A southern species which may be more widespread on southern and western coasts. Easily confused with Ulva lactuca which may account for the paucity of records. Found in wave-sheltered conditions such as harbours and sheltered bays, where it is normally confined to the shallow subtidal zone. Almost certainly an alien species.
