Issus coleoptratus - Ivy Hopper



Range & Status

Widespread across much of England and Wales.

Regional Distribution

Noted in the Victoria County History (Clark, 1906) from Pencalenick, but only found once since then, in Ethy Woods in 2001.

Habitat & Ecology

A tree canopy living species with a particular association with the evergreen foliage of Ivy Hedera spp. and Yew Taxus baccata .

Threats

None identified, other than excessive clearance of ivy from trees.

Conservation

Ethy Woods is owned by The National Trust.
