Hypericum montanum - Pale St John's-wort



Range & Status

Native. European Temperate species. Mainly found in chalk and limestone areas of

England and Wales.

Regional Distribution

Recorded at one site in Cornwall (in 2002 and 2003), in coastal dune-grassland at Gear Sands (SW75).

Habitat & Ecology

Historically found in a few coastal sites, and at two places associated with railway

habitat.

Threats

The extant site is an area of sand-dune that is heavily used by dog-walkers. Eutrophication of the dune-grassland may be a threat.

Conservation

Gear Sands is a SAC.
